Event Objective:
To encourage students to actively practice English speaking during their free time, enhance their English listening and speaking skills, and cultivate the habit of continuous and self-directed English learning.
* Organizer: Bilingual Education Promotion Center, Office of Academic Affairs
* Co-organizer: General Education Promotion Center, Office of Academic Affairs
* Eligibility:All officially enrolled students taking Freshman or Sophomore English courses under the Day Division Undergraduate Program or Evening Bachelor’s Program in the 2025 Fall Semester (Academic Year 114-1) are eligible to participate.
* Group Division:Participants will be categorized based on the course they are enrolled in:
* Daily English Group
* Workplace English Group
* ESP Group (Sophomore English for Specific Purposes)(Note: Students enrolled in both Freshman English and ESP will be placed in the ESP Group.)
Competition Timeline and Scoring Criteria:
1. Learning Record Period:From Week 5 (October 13, 2025) to Week 15 (December 26, 2025)
2. Evaluation Method:Based on participants’ self-study records on the MyET platform, including:
* Frequency of practice
* Performance scoresEvaluation will be conducted within each class group.
3. Result Announcement Date:Wednesday, January 7, 2026
Learning Record Calculation Method:
※ The following excludes the “Single Sentence Practice” and “Role-Playing” modes within the course modules.
1. Self-Study Frequency:Refers to the number of times a student actively enters and completes a non-assigned unit on the MyET platform and receives a score. Each completed unit counts as one self-study session.
2. Self-Study Score:Refers to the score obtained by the student from the beginning of the practice to the completion of the reading task within the self-study unit described above.
Evaluation Method and Awards:
1. Class Awards:Each class will select one student with the highest number of self-study sessions to receive the MyET Learning Master Award certificate. If multiple students in the same class have the same number of self-study sessions, the student with the higher average self-study score will be prioritized.
2. Group Awards:Among the MyET Class Learning Master Award winners from each class, students will be grouped based on their course categories:
* Daily English Group
* Workplace English Group
* Sophomore English for Specific Purposes Group (ESP)Each group will select the top three students to receive the MyET Elite Star Award, along with a certificate.
Competition Instructions:
1. Scan the exclusive QR code to install and open the MyET application.
2. Log in using your university student account to access the Kainan University MyET Exclusive Server.
3. During the competition period, choose and practice independently with MyET courses (excluding English vocabulary courses and non-English courses such as Chinese and Japanese).
